Brand Revival Challenge

Teams analyze struggling brands and develop strategic revival plans, showcasing their business acumen, marketing creativity, and strategic thinking.

Event Objectives:

  • • Enhance students’ problem-solving skills in business strategy and marketing.
  • • Provide a real-world business case experience.
  • • Encourage creative thinking and data-driven decision-making.
  • • Offer practical exposure to brand repositioning and turnaround strategies.

2. Target Audience:

  • • Participants: Business, marketing, and commerce students.
  • • Teams: 3-4 members per team.
  • • Judges: Faculty members, marketing experts, and industry professionals.

3. Event Structure

Phase 1: Brand Assignment & Research (30 mins)

📌 Format:

  • • Each team is given a struggling brand (real or hypothetical).
  • • Brands are from different industries (FMCG, fashion, tech, automobile, etc.).
  • • Teams receive background info: market position, challenges, and financials.
  • • They have 30 minutes to research and brainstorm a revival strategy.

📌 Example Brands:

  • • Kodak: Once a photography giant, now struggling in the digital era.
  • • BlackBerry: How to reposition in the smartphone market?
  • • Kingfisher Airlines: Could it be revived with a new business model?

Phase 2: Strategy Presentation (5-7 mins per team)

📌 Format:

• Teams present their revival plans, covering:
✅ Brand repositioning strategy.
✅ Marketing and promotional tactics.
✅ Digital and social media strategy.
✅ Financial restructuring (if applicable).
✅ Potential partnerships and innovations.
