The Financial Analysis Case Study Competition is an engaging challenge where participants step into the shoes of financial analysts and corporate strategists. Teams dive into real-world business scenarios, analysing financial statements, interpreting key metrics, and crafting data-driven solutions to complex corporate challenges. This competition tests participants’ ability to think critically, make strategic decisions, and present well-reasoned recommendations—just like in a high-stakes corporate environment. It’s a great opportunity to develop financial expertise, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, preparing participants for careers in finance, consulting, and business strategy. The competition blends learning with competition, making it both an insightful and thrilling experience.
TIMELINE: 3 hours
TEAM SIZE: Minimum 2, Maximum 4 members
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members (cross-disciplinary teams are encouraged).
- Each participant can be part of only one team.
- All team members must be currently enrolled students at a recognized institution.
RULES & REGULATIONS:
1. Team Conduct & Ethics
- Teams must maintain professional conduct throughout the competition.
- Plagiarism or uncredited external content will result in immediate disqualification.
- Recommendations should be original and based on rigorous financial analysis.
2. Submission Guidelines
- The final report must be in PDF or PPT format.
- The file name should follow this format: TeamName_CaseStudy.pdf
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
3. Presentation Guidelines
- Presentations must be structured, clear, and professional.
- Every team member should participate actively.
- Use of PowerPoint, Excel models, and financial tools is encouraged.
- Judges may ask follow-up questions based on the presentation.
4. Disqualification Criteria
- Missed submission deadlines.
- Plagiarism or AI-generated content without validation.
- Inappropriate behaviour towards teams, organizers, or judges.
- Exceeding presentation time limits.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
3.1 Phase 1: Registration & Team Formation
• Teams must register via Google Form/email submission before the deadline.
• Registration must include:
- Team Name
- Names, contact details, and academic details of each member.
- Designated team leader (point of contact)
3.2 Phase 2: Case Study Release & Analysis
• The case study will be released to all registered teams.
• The case will present a real-world financial challenge (e.g., financial distress, mergers & acquisitions, profitability crisis, financial scams and frauds).
• Provided materials:
- Financial Statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement)
- Industry Reports & Constraints
• Teams are expected to conduct analysis using:
- SWOT & PESTLE Analysis
- Ratio Analysis
- Valuation Models (DCF, Comparable Analysis, etc.)
3.3 Phase 3: Submission & Shortlisting
• Teams must submit their detailed report or presentation in PDF/PPT format by the deadline.
• Submissions will be evaluated based on:

• The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony, followed by a networking session.
